Default Looking to buy a new car in the near future, need opinions

Well, right now, I currently drive a 2000 A6 4.2, pretty stock, w/about 85k miles... I'm looking to buy a new(er) car, doesn't have to be brand new... I'm willing to spend about $60K... here's what I had in mind... 2003 mercedes-benz SL 55 AMG, 2005 A6 4.2, or just wait until the new generation 2007 TT comes out...What do you all think?

Do you want a 2 or 4 door car? That should help narrow it down.

Do you want to mod it at all?

Do you often have more than 2 people in your car?

Depends on what you expect from the car. Your list seems to be performance oriented products from luxury car brands. I'd get the TT personally, why move to another A6 when you can move UP. No other car on the planet screams 'spoiled white woman' than Mercedes Benz and I'll leave that at that. The 190E DTM was hot, but thats a 15 year old car now.

Consumer Reports agrees with you on that. Your family members are not alone.

I like MBs, just gotta be AMG... ok so the SL class is a bit feminine, I think it's sweet, I like the E55 also which is comparable with an RS6.

But I did get concerned about this:

I thought, as far as ranking goes, for best german automakers, MB would definately be on top, followed very closely by Audi (forget BMWs, hate them). I think in the next coming years Audi will probably surpass them, if they haven't already.

Maybe I should stick with Audi afterall huh? The question is, which one?
