Default looking to the future (next car)

So I know I wont have this B5 2.8 forever. First of all the mod bug will keep pestering me till I give in to a new canvas (most likely something with a turbo...or atleast more aftermarket options) and it's gettin up there in miles (gonna hit 124k soon...and yea i know some have more and they run fine...but I'm gonna sell this thing sooner or later. Hopefully sooner so the mileage doesn't keep piling up).

So I was thinking of some cars I would like to look at next. The big ones are:

B5/B6 1.8t

or even better

B5 S4

Others that I've considered are things like:

-TT (a turbo model, never driven one...and supposidly they dont respond so well in the steering. And of course cargo capacity is an issue with me being a musician ie: guitars and amplifiers)
-S2000 (always loved them, but again limited cargo and of course no AWD. RWD would def be fun though.)
-E46 M3
-STi and the EVO i would consider...but i'm not looking to down grade comfort too much
-R32 (if i could find one that wasnt so overpriced)

I'm just looking for other suggestions as now you can see the kind of things I'm looking for. I'm not looking to go out and buy something tomorrow or anything, I'm just pondering.

S4 Avant, or, if you can't quite swing that, a later-model A4 1.8T Avant.

What's your budget?

Financing or paying cash?

Warranty required or flying naked?

My best bet would be financing a certified pre-owned car. Prob looking at 500-600 dollars that I could spend on a payment a month. Although I wouldn't be looking to drop THAT much a month if I could (that's just the max I could swing). And prob about 2,500 max on a down payment. I'd def pay the down payment cash and finance the rest. Warranty would of course be a plus.

if you have the mod bug, a b5 S4 is your best bet. At what you are willing to spend you could probably find a real nice one for the 18-20 range. Look in classifieds. There is a nagaro s4 avant for sale on the site here. High miles though i think. But those are definately the best to mod.

BTW, you cant say evo or sti in here. Plus they have the worst turbo lag.

and we hate s2000s...... well at least i do, dont know about the rest.

Yea the B5 S4 is on the top of the list. It's got the mods and the practicality of AWD and the cargo space. I can't see myself driving a STi or an EVO, they're just there cause they can be. I love S2000's, but it's not practical for me at all. Especially since I'll only have ONE car, so it's gotta perform here in NJ all the time... ie: dry, wet, snow, and icy conditions.
