i listen to last.fm, search by tags, and search for 'free'. Broadens the music horizons a bit, and its legal.

No problems with LimeWire Pro here either, and since it's paid for (one-time fee), it's legal now right?

Don't use limewire. Firstly, with limewire you get only one PDF file at a time, when using azureus (or other bt client, but this one is the fastest and my favorite) you can download complete libraries of PDF files all at once. Secondly, the people who host on limewire are generally brainless, and tend to mis-tag PDF files and spreadsheets, so when you look to download the latest TPS report, you get a fat lady shaking her rolls instead. Lastly, there are too many viruses on limewire that even the most experienced users can have trouble with.

So, if you want to avoid all of that trouble, follow baconbait's directions. If you have a fast windows pc or a mac, and want the fastest download speeds but a program that takes up a bit more memory, get azureus. If you have a slower, older pc and want good speeds and a program that uses no memory, go with uTorrent.

these little birdies made me say a lot. i think i'm going to stop listening now.

^Yup! Buying used CDs off of amazon is the way to go.. cheap and DRM free, and you actually have the disc. Unless you're just after the latest disposable pop track, then yeah download it. You won't be listening to it in a month anyway.

Actually that is something else I do quite often for these reasons

1) it's the legal way and supports our economy
2) CD's usually have better quality then the compressed stuff you get over the interwebz.
3) I like the cover art

So for bands that I will never tire of like AC/DC, Motley Crue, Led Zepplin, etc. i buy the CD, but for songs like Crank Dat (which I deleted off my computer two days after DL it) I'll use the internet.
