Problem with 1999 audi a4 turbo. please help
Ok, heres the deal. I have this audi had it since last august. Its been pretty good to me recently. However a couple months ago I slid off the road in VT. And although there was basically no visual damage I later realized the bank pushed the bumper up shredding the blades off the main cooling fan. I have a new fan but i cant get the fan clutch off. And i really dont want to take out the radiator...I have the hains manuel which depicts a bolt on the fan clutch. And it says you can lock the pully belt and spin it off. There is no such bolt on the fan clutch on this 1.8T 99 vehicle that i can see. any help or creative ideas as to how i can get the new fan on would be greatly appreciated. I recently relocated to FL and i am worried about the heat/lack of fan.
There is like a 27mm that is probably left hand thread and must be broken loose with an air hammer & special tool or special tool holding type tool. Or try holding the pulley and leaving the belt on then jerking a wrench on it. good luck.
