Not worth it at all.
When I had a detector, I drove like I had a detector. Fast! Got 6 tickets I believe, it probably saved me from 20, but 6 is still too many. Threw it out finally, 5 years later, not a single ticket. I just watch for the cops, drive 7 over max, and am more aware of my surroundings.

but like on a highway where the limit is 65 and everybodys doin like 80 will you still only go 72? i usually just go with the flow... but sometimes, you just gotta burn someone.

Yeah do the simple math of going like 8 mph faster than you currently go... it wont save you that much time. Going with the flow is usually safe though, cept we drive audi's... so we are going to get picked out of a group of chevy's.

Mine has probably saved me from 4-5 tickets since I got it in December. Bottom line is, it *will* help you if there's a cop staked out with a radar gun on a ways up the highway, and you're going ~15 over. You gotta remember, though, it detects radar guns that are turned on, not anything in a blue uniform with a badge. People get frustrated with them for that reason.

yea, most people think that they're cop detectors, this is incorrect....not all cops use radar, not all cops have radar, but if they do, it will save your ***....mine saved me at least 4 times (that i'm aware of)....but being from an urban city, be aware that alot of banks and grocery stores are going to set it off....

There are different types of radar used by cops... I cant remember the names, but the detectors pick up the kind that can be described as a "machine gun" which is constantly shooting into traffic... the detector can detect this, and let you know... there is another kind of radar, that is like a sniper rifle. they find you, THEN they get your speed. Your detecter will go nuts, but it's too late.
Food for thought. I heard the V1 is the best though, my buddy has one.

The best way is to just know where all the cops can get you and make sure you're not going faster than traffic around you when you pass there.

dont cops have radar detector dectectors? i heard they have a detector that picks up the signal or Infa Red or watever they use of a radar dectector, so they will know u have a radar dectector, is this true?
