i very much like the european aspect of the show. I feel like BBC invests alot of time and money into the show (after all it is very popular). Just think of the stunts, amazing shooting locations, challenges, everything. I highly doubt an US adaptation would be 1/2 as good if they tryed to follow in TG's footsteps. A us version will have to bring something unique and special, and dont think a drag strip is a good replacement for the TG test track... I can see a US tg like show failing within 1 season. We have speed channel and BBC america for a reason.

 

My hopes for "gear" are pretty low, especially after I read the description. It will probably be good for people who have never seen Top Gear. It sounded like they will have similar challenges and stunts but they won't be nearly as good. They won't talk crap about American cars either which is stupid since most are. America doesn't have many good places for driving or shooting those awesome shots they get from Europe.

 

Speed channel has turned asinine. All they show now is Pinks and Nascar. During the odd *** hours, they show highlights of other races.

 

When is "Gear" rumored to start? If they dont have hosts, they havent started filming. Top gear said it takes at least 6 months to film and edit one season of top gear, and they've been doing it for awhile. This sounds more like an idea bouncing around than anything set in stone

 

I hate that show,they are biased,fix the out come of events and are just pure trash. The freakin Ricer Civic boys were having a field day when a Civic Si beat a CBR around a road course that the bike had the advantage in every part of it by 3 times the CIivic.
