He drives a '98 Camaro Std (the 3.8 V6 one) and he absolutely hates my car. I'm guessing that he's put off by the fact that his engine is more than 100% bigger than my engine, yet he only puts out 33% more horsepower. Granted, he does have a good deal more torque (230ft/lbs) but he never uses it because his engine doesn't develop it till 4000 rpm (vs the 1.8T @ 1750 rpm) Although, I think I might have pissed him off because I called him an "American Ricer" when he put racing stripes and the camaro SS hood on his car, but nothing under the hood at all. I've tried to get him to come auto-x with me, since we run in the same class (G-Stock) but he refuses because he doesn't want to beat his car to death. He keeps going on and on about how his car is a collectable since they don't make the Camaro anymore, and that it will last forever if he babys it (drives like grandma all the time)

The thing is, the V6 Camaro isn't really a bad car. It's quick, sporty, good on gas and can hold it's own on the highway. I don't have any problems with people who drive them, or anything, but why is it that people who own and drive them hate obviously superior cars? It's not like I'm bragging about an '87 Civic DX with 200,000 miles or something, my A4 is a beautiful car to look at, and a blast to drive no matter what the conditions.

I think I'm going to have to smack him if he keeps this stuff up.

It's been a while since I cared about Chevy... I did not know they still made the (S)exually (T)ransmited (D)isease version of the Camaro.

 

Haha, well, if he's happy having the same motor that is in an oldsmobile or buick, then good for him. Just K04 your A4, and then he won't have a damned thing to argue about anymore.
I had a V8 Camaro, a very, very rare 1le Z28 from 1995... the fastest 4th gen stock Z28 you could get (because of weight savings)... and yes, it was fast... but damnit, they are such pieces of crap! The 1le felt a lot tighter than the trans am (a 94) I had previously... but yeah, they aren't very well put together cars. Straight line fun, that's about it.
