Today was the first day I've ever sat in and drove an Audi.
Yeah i learned in my 2.8. It was a stick and I had to drive it 1hr home to! It was a fun ride let me tell you! LOL
Also my bro learned on my friends A4 with a stage 3 clutch... he also has the DBW throttle so it is super sensitive! No harm done.

If you start to smell it then go ahead and stop and let it cool for a while though. LOL

good luck finding a rental car with a stick, in America. If you were in Europe it'd be the other way around.

Wow, kilo grats. i thought the day would never come.
You will be extremely happy with an 07 A4
Dont worry about mods screwing with your warranty. they shouldnt. the dealerships are pretty good about that. you have to think that most of the guys there probably drive moded audi's.
At my dealership we have 5 moded a4's and a stage 2 b4 s4. And we have other guys wanting to mod.
Also if youre going to be so worried and stuff, might as well skip getting an audi if you wont be able to enjoy it the way its ment to be enjoyed.
Who cares if you screw something up. its part of the joy of owning one of these cars.

strange laws in the UK, if you pass your test in an automatic you cant drive a stick shift so you need to take another test for that
if you pass in a stick shift you can drive an automatic on the same licence ( personally I like the auto ) because there is too much traffic on the roads and gear change is getting painful on the left leg pushing that clutch peddle all the time

You know someone with a quad or dirt bike? That could help you learn how the whole process works & have fun. This is how i learned before i could drive.
why does it really matter to do it on another car?? you're not gonna tear up the tranny THAT BAD, are ya?? just make sure you got the hang of iton the flats before you try the hills....and even then start out gradual. you'll be fine. i learned quite a few years back on a standard "H" volkswagon. that was a fun car.
