lol... oh yeah, the .308 is the same practically as the 7.62mm which is the round used for squad support weapons (the old M60 MG and the new SAW).

i took my chl class this weekend and it took 14 hours to complete. i shot 235 out of 250 and got a 98% on my written test. now i just have to wait 10-16 weeks because texas is so backed up.

 

From the picture that rifle looks like it has a detachable magazine. If so, isn't that illegal in CA?

clarification...the m249 SAW (squad automatic weapon) is a 5.56 round, not in fact the 7.62 round
it uses the same ammo the m16 style rifles use, while the older m60 uses the 7.62 round from the m14
lots of reasons military chose to do this...the whole squad uses the same type of ammo...
lighter PER shell, which equates to more rounds for the same weight, so each solider can carry more rounds
also, less recoil under rapid fire, which equals better accuracy......
just 3 reasons, there are more, BUT this is a thread about what you CARRY, not about what rounds the military uses....lol!

Just picked up a Sig P220R, single stack .45 carries so ******* nice, but damn does it kick hard.

 

Heard the P220 is supposed to be the most accurate .45 right out of the box. Is this true?
