Whos screwing around with flashing ROMs on android phones?
I am.
Which means in my attempts to get a function verizon didn't want me to have, I end up breaking another function I probably really liked using.
The best part of all this, is that the level of skill and understanding I'm at with all this is probably about even with a high school kid who just got his license, and was then asked to go race the Indy 500.
"ok, that ones brake, this one is gas.... whats this switch do?"
Break. (thankfully not brick)
So, pretty much just venting.
I have a Galaxy S3 thru Verizon. Verizon, ATT, and T-Mobile are all working on some ghey programs that will never work as well as Google Wallet, but they don't want you to be able to use Google Wallet because they're butthurt about it.
I WANT GOOGLE WALLET.
So, The other day I flashed a jellybean ROM by LiquidSmooth, then pushed the APK for Google Wallet. Then I peed a little in my pants because I was so excited that I was MINUTES away from having Google Wallet, and because I didnt' have anymore Verizon/Samsung bloatware, and my already fast phone was now super fast.
But... NFC (near field communications), which is the phone talks to the pay terminal at the store is broken now. I have Google Wallet, but my phone no speakee teh language.
LiquidSmooth takes bits of work done by CyanogenMod, and AOSP I believe, so I'm hoping I can add NFC support back into the phone based off of stuff people are doing to fix NFC on CM9/10 ROMS, but the instructions are getting a little more advanced, and Im not quite ready to dive right into this and potentially brick my 6 week old phone.
THE END.

I figured I'd give it a shot. Lot of talk about it.
NFC is my only complaint really, and you'll still have to screw around with the same involved process to get it working with CM.
Also, considering that Liquid jellybean is about 2 weeks old, only having one complaint is pretty damn good.

With Liquid Smooth stock CPU settings, its on demand with a max of 1890MHz.
1.5GHz is stock I think?
So, bugs so far:
NFC no worky.
GPS is on, but Google keeps asking for me to turn it on for searches.
WhatsApp asks me to re-verify my phone number at least once a day.
Weather widget says no data.
Beta 3 is due out any day now. Developers promise its mind blowing.
I'll blow the developers if NFC works in this next round.
