Default is my car screwing with me???

i've posted a few times on here about getting a giac chipped ecu from the internet, and how its been throwing the cel, idling rough, and dying. well last night on the way home from work it died when i came to a stop. i started the car back up and the cel was gone, but no fear it came back on in like 30 sec. ..well today the car died a few times when i came to a near stop, so i went home and washed her up and had to go to the bank. so, i started it up and the cel was gone again and i drove to the bank and back and the light hasnt come on yet...so the question is is my car screwing with me, or is it something else. maybe she was happy i washed her i dont know.

Im thinking maybe your throttle body wasnt aligned... if you put the key in the on position for a few minutes, it should do a basic one.

ive done that on two seperate occasions...turned the key to the on position for 5 min then start the car and let it run for 5 minutes..i never realized what a hassle this is..here i thought it was just plug and go..oh well part of the learning experience i suppose.

Have you checked the ECU for codes yet? If so what are the codes?

edit: I just saw your other post. MAF problems, huh? I think look at block 2 or block 3 for the MAF. I can't remember right now. VAG-COM will tell you what the acceptable range is for the block you are measuring. At idle you should see 2.5-3.5 g/s.
