I only bought it because it was a wagon, white, had leather, and a cool stereo... I even thought the engine was a little underpowered. If I could get a kia that was as safe and reliable as my car... kia time baby... my girlfriend doesn't even know what an Audi is anyway.

honestly, i dont really care that i drive an Audi. I like that its a german car, but even that wouldnt matter, if everything would be the same except i wouldnt have a brand or a badge. I would still want a large enough car company to warranty and make parts, but other than that i dont care.

I am so surprised. ther are so many cars out ther right now that would out "drive" ie: perform, go faster, etc.
for faar cheaper. & probably more reliable & cheaper to maintain too. If all I wanted was performance I'd get an EVO or WRX.
out of the box, better #'s...

Is not all about badge snobbery seriously - if u guys didnt care about badges / brands, why not just get new VW's?

but, you get something else when u get an audi.. thats why it is priced where its at, and why
it is in the same league as Mercedes & BMW. and IMO - I think BMW is a drivers car as well.
Thats part of the reason All these german engineered cars can even charge as much as they do - bec. of the name recognition.

if you were comparing Mitsubishi eclipses & Eagle Talons or Ford probes & Mazda mx6s - I think I'd get it ur points..
it wouldnt really matter, ideally almost the same cars / engines - just different badging on them.

[] am i really that far off base w/ this? I guess it is badge snobbery then eh?
but is that such a bad thing?

I probably wouldnt have bought it, because I believe in Audi and their engineering.. so that is why i went with a car that they built.. yes if "Kia" made the car, they would have built an awesome car, but it just still wouldnt be Quattro

Personally, I've alway purchased a car based on the what kind a vehicle it was, not what it was called. I have the Lightning because it's the fastest truck (no matter what those SRT-10 guys think). If Isuzu made the fastest truck, then that's what I would have purchased, because the fastest truck was what I wanted. Same with the M5, I wanted a mid-size supersport sedan, and the BMW was (in my opinion) the best one out there, even though I've never liked BMWs before.

The awd, power, handling, reputation really had very little to do with me buying my S4. It was mostly the interior. I really really liked that interior.
