Offroad, did your RS4 come with Michelin's or Pirelli's? Curious?
P Zero's and I don't like them ! Will switch to Michelin PS2 very soon !

Mine came with Pirelli's also, why don't you like them? I noticed they tend to loose traction and bounce around the pavement while manuvering from right to left when cornering or quick jolts. All in all they are decent though-def be my 2nd pick. Have not had a chance to try them out in the rain (been three F'n weeks since we had rain here) have you?

Justify what...the purchase? If your married and thats why, I have the answer. Just tell her its another woman or the car. HAHA. If she says how do you figure. just say "if I buy this, I won't have the doe to spend on another female". Otherwise please explain, confused.

Forgot to mention, I am looking into exhaust also. I found a stratmosphere authorized dealer up in roswell GA. Sent an email asking for details on milltek ex:Tips, S button changes etc etc. I am also looking into "quicksilver" systems. What does everyone recommend and why?

Trev - The Milltek RS4 system is ONLY available with the NEWLY DESIGNED oval Milltek tips similar to the factory tips. If you are going Milltek I highly recommend you go directly to Stratmosphere since they are the US distributor for Milltek. You can even have your Audi dealer order the system from Stratmosphere and the dealer will get a little discount (making them more willing to do the install) and thus the exhaust should present no warranty issues.

The P Zero is not as compliant as the PS2, does not hold its shape as well as the PS2, is not as dynamiaclly stable as the PS2, is much noiser than the PS2, does not wear as well as the PS2.

I had PS2's on both of my S4's, my 996 Turbo and my A3. There simply is no substitute for the race bred engineering on the Michelin PS2.

abacab/understandable, making the decision to buy this car and accepting that its a balanced one is difficult. The car is very expensive and frankly I do not know how I am able to afford it with its other expenses ex:gas, insurance etc. Thats your call. I have wanted this thing for 2 years and looked it up online or anywhere I could find in that time so deciding was (I don't want to say easy) but I didn't hesitate. If you love cars as much as I and can afford it...I highly recommend the RS4 over any other car in its price range & some even more expensive.
Offroad/I guess oval is my only option on tips. Damn, I wanted rectangular possibly "intercooled", O'well. If I order it I was going to get it through Nally Audi who is a certified stratmosphere distributor. Glad to hear there isn't any warranty issues...excellent news!
Quicksilver wrote me back from the UK and said they have a system with a functional baffle? Still checking on that (waiting to hear back) but will let you know asap. Still not sure who I should go with when I decide to upgrade? The tech from the stratmosphere distributor wrote me back also and said I should wait about 6 months before I make that decision. Honestly, I agree with him. He said putting one on an S4 was an all day task and a pain in the A**! However, it is most def possible and can be done. He said to wait and let someone else be the ginnie pig. When someone is turning down $ to express what they think is best, I listen. Don't worry, this won't steer me away from doing it later though. He said the "S" would only control the throttle increase w/ the Milltek system, which I already knew/baffle would be gone. Not a huge deal but as we were saying earlier in the week, listening to JUST the engine is pretty sweet and I kinda like having the option to go into stealth mode.
As for the PS2's, I will try them out once my pirelli's are bald. Don't have the funds to swap them out right now plus they are brand new italian tires, couldn't stand seeing them catch dust in my garage w/ less the a 1000 miles on them. I do agree, insane amount of road noise...geese! Sounds like you are re-entering the earth's atmosphere from space! Let me know what you think when you upgrade to PS2's.

Elevens, thanks for the advise! I will re-think the situation and ponder over a few drinks later. I too agree that the line over the hood is an eye soar. Sounds like waxing is a real pain too. I do live in a big city and so far I have tried avoiding highways and long drives down to one of my businesses-2 hours away FYI. Backroads are key in Atlanta and there are plenty of them, so I'll continue to use them 90% of the time. Curious, how much did it cost to buy and have installed? Thanks again!
