Default 01.5 motor vs 00

Is there any differences, pro\cons between the 01.5 motor\trannie and the 00 motor\trannie. I have found a really good deal on a 00 with under 80k on it. I have k04's that i will be putting on this motor. just to give you a direction that i am going.

only difference in the motor to an 01.5 is the deletion of the F-hose and an upgraded TBB. the transmissions are exactly the same but the 01.5 came with different linkages which is why the 00-01.0 have more transmission problems.

it might be worth it to switch over if you can come out even in money and have fewer miles, as long as the car is in good shape and hasn't really been abused.

Should be able to use VAG COM to change the coding for the ECU so that it matches what the car has. The 2nd Ecu I had (2000 GIAC) had the esp numbers added to the coding. Caused CEL to come on a few times. Went in changed coding all worked for me. I would guess that the opposite would work for you.
