Default 01 S4 6spd Hard to start When HOT HELP!!!

Hi, I have a 2001 audi s4 2.7t 6spd manual. The car runs great all the time no rough idle nothing, just 3/5 of the time when i go to a store or something after the car has been running for a while, ill shut it off and lock it with my key because key fob is dead. Then ill come back after say 10 minutes and ill go to turn it on and it will just crank and crank and nothing will fire up. Ill have to try a few times then sit and rest then try again and out of nowhere boom it starts up perfect. I have googled the crap out of this and come up with nothing someone mentioned a new temp sensor i did that and still same issue. Now i did notice when i turn the car off the after run pump is not turning on could this have something to do with it. I don't know if it could be my key fob but if it were the key wouldnt it not give power at all? Again the car runs great, good gas mileage, i dont think its spark plugs or fuel pump. Only when hot it will do this. Please help me

could be a dirty fuel filter. do you here the pump kick on when you turn the key? also check the fuel pump fuse to see if its in there all the way

Thanks for the reply, ill probably change the fuel filter for the heck of it but it does not sputter or anything so will see if it works, as far as the fuse ill have to check that out but i don't think that is the issue, could be a faulty crank sensor someone told me.

Hey, I replaced the fuel filter yesterday (pain in the a** for real) but anyway it feels like the car is a little better on pick up and that problem has not come up yet so far. So ill keep my fingers crossed and hope that the problem is fixed. Ill keep you updated if it did not work.

Hey, well bad news the problem is still a problem. I'm so mad I don't know what the problem is, I don't know if its a RPM Crank sensor or if its the ignition control module(2 of them). I don't think its the spark plugs but ill change them just for fun i guess. If any ideas as to what this can be come up please say. Thanks.

Good news it was a bad crank sensor. Fixed the problem easy to install just a little tight.
