Default 01 s4 loosing power

Just like the title says guys, the car just started doing this a couple of days ago. Sometimes when I stomp the gas the car does not seem to have near the amount of power that it should. Then I can stomp the gas again and all the sudden the power is back. Seems to be happening more often today. I think that this is probally a bad turbo but not sure. Could it be a boost leak? The car has 120k bone stock minus revo stage 1. The car just had the stage 1 installed a month ago when I bought the car. I sure hope I dont already have to buy new turbos, only put a 1k miles on the car. Thanks Nick

You need to upgrade your diverter valves if you havent already and you should buy a silicon throttle body boot.

LMFAO wow, did you even try the search function? This topic has been covered 1000 times. oh no my s4 doesn't seem fast anymore, waaahhhh boo hoo. If you really cared about your car you would get off your high horse and try a little harder. Have you even read some posts here? The first thing that anyone says to something vague and unquantified is to be more specific. If your going to be a jackass about it take your car to the stealership and pay through the nose, they will do all the work for you and all you have to do is pay.

oh and btw, it probably is your DV, a single search would have revealed that the stock valve is a weak point and it should be upgraded to the 710N unit or a billet one.

I have replaced upgraded bypass valves, and 034 tbb boot. After installing boost gauge the car is pulling around 15 to 17 psi. When the acts up its pulls 5lbs every time. It only does it like once a day and then all the sudden the car runs back to normal. This is driving me crazy, anybody have an idea.

Hey man I am not trying to be a jackass, just use to being on other forums with a little more support. I replaced the bypass valves when I bought the car about a month ago along with the 034 motorsport tbb. I done alot of searching on the net and talked to alot of people with no luck. And I am not worried about being fast in this car, I bought it for a daily driver because it looked neat and seamed like a cool car. If you wanna ride in something fast and your ever in the ga area just give me a holla. 04 rcsb silverado, 5.3, cammed, t76 front mount 10psi dynos almost 500hp to the tires.

if it is a turbo going bad look for oil on the plastic skid gaurd under the front of the car. also check your hoses connecting to the intercoolers and you might want to do a boost leak test. sounds like a split hose.

It sounds like you are going into limp mode. Have you had the car scanned?

5psi is the factory setting for limp mode. you have a code somewhere in the computer causing your car to run 5psi. it could be any number of sensors in the car and the only way to find out is to hook it up to a computer. most dealerships will pull the code for free but if you get it diagnosed thats when they charge you, usually 1 hours worth of labor to tell you you need new sparkplugs or somethin. this is a slower forum so not always will you get a response. try audizine.com theres plenty more people over there but usually you get your *** chewed out a lot more for reacting the way you did. use common sense
