roadhawk... have no fear sir..in a straight line we can take the rs4... track..youd need some work... as well as we lack the awe inspiring asthetics and luxiries that the RS4 has..

The B7 RS4 has a far superior chassis and handling than a B5 S4, even a B5 with suspension work. However straight line a Stage 3 B5 will hav the advantage over the RS4.
I owned a B6 A4 with sport package and it definitely out handled my B5 S4 stock...and may even now with the Stasis Streetsports that are on it now.

I should also add that even with just Bilstein shocks & H & R spring (lowered) setup with 19" Yokos - my handling was far far better then just the stock B5 S4 - which I found to be much too tipsy and dipsy for real spirited driving...mine was much tighter before - and now the dynamics are much improved...still it is a heavy beast and I'm relying quite a bit on powering out of/through turns then what would be ideal with pure lightweight handling finese...

LOL - understood...however my point still stands (at least IMO) - driver of the RS4 will have to be both highly skilled and ballsy to beat me...though I am still learning the (more oversteer) dynamics of my new KW/H-sport setup - the handling is much crisper then before (down right amazing IMO) - better turn in and (high speed) stability (particularly over rough surfaces...)...and lowered as it is and with my 19" Yoko AVS sports it is very percise & grippy...and I know how to drive fast through the curves and I do so with great aplomb...so with all my power & grip...regardless of perhaps less easy ability to toss about...I'm confident that I can give just about anyone in a new RS4 a run for their money (and likely take many/most of them...)...all that being said - I appreciate and understand (at least theoretically) the superior handling dynamics and high reving sporty power of the RS4...we are really living in some era for driving enthusiasts aren't we? ...that such a machine (with 4 doors & a trunk even) is available and realistically afordable to those of us who are not fabulolusy wealthy is pretty amazing...

No offense I'd have more faith in the RS4. I also never over estimate my driving abilities though.
