2.7t motor build?
I have a 2001 S4 who I think has had a rough life prior to being in my care.
What sort of internals do you think i should replace if I decide to build up the motor? Gaskets? Heads? Where can I get ahold of these things?
Thanks for all your help.

how many miles? i always think that if you're going to build an engine go all out and check everything because you likely won't be back in their again, and don't want to be. con-rod bearings, new rings, de-glaze the cylinder walls, clean off any carbon build up, check valve seats, cam shaft wear along with crankshaft wear. new gaskets when you take apart an engine are a must, never reuse.
keep in mind these are great engines, very durable, so do a compression test first to see if it's on par, take off the intake manifold crank the engine and check for carbon build up with a flashlight. don't take it apart unless you are certain there is an issue which is keeping it from performing like it should

I think tie rods should be checked, Mine needed to be replaced... also axel boots check for leaks. Besides that, you might want to invest in a new dv or the apr bi-pipe to for yo' boost. P.S. timing belt if it hasn't been done.
