the a6 has to be heavier...how could it be lighter? the s4 is so much smaller i dont get it

 

The S4 2.7T auto = 3704
S4 2.7T manu= 3593

So the S4 is lighter.

but the fact of the mater is the S4 is faster than the A6, there close but the A6 is a little slugish off the line compared to the S4, the S4 is also lighter for sure... i know the S4 is faster because my friend has a 6 speed A6 and i have a 6 speed S4 we have raced like over 5 times on the free way and in the 1/4 mile, i have never lost and its not based on shifting because he tought me how to drive stick in the first place several years ago...

 

the A6 is heavier, and yes the difference would be because of the weight difference. i guess we could look into the tranny and see if there are any gearing differences, but i'll have to go find the information and then come back to post it because i'm not near any of my resources (magazines).

 

The overall chasis dynamics of the A6 would require much better suspension for it to match the S4 in all areas.

I do believe the A6 to be a better sleeper... Most people don't realize they're twin turbo (think the 2.7T stands for just single turbo and don't know it's the exact same engine).

 

yah, i didn't realize that till today so I'm exchanging my 3.0 a6 for the 2.7t later today, or tomorrow morning. I got them to do an even exchange cuz i refered my brother to the same dealership and he's buying a clk500 from them. Told them if they dont give me an even trade that we're walking. o btw sticker price was 17000 for 3.0 and 18,000 for the 2.7t

 

www.audiworld.com has all the specs on like all audi models. just go to the resource page and they will tell you all the info, they even have gear ratios. Havent looked into those but i think they use the same transmission if i remember correctly.

 

I read somewhere that the Allroads and A6's computer program was different. S4 is more aggressive. I'll see if I can find out where.
