2006 s4 clutch
hi im new here and this is my first post. We recently purchased a 2006 s4 back in april. This is our first manual transmission car and i was wondering how much of a beating this clutch can take when you are going really hard. Im not talking about launching, because im not into racing and dont like tickets [:@]. Im talking about when you are accellerating really hard like when you get on the highway, and shift really fast to keep the revs up, well when i do this there is sometimes a small jerk (i think my rpms are a little to high when i release the clutch), but anyway will this **** up the clutch, or is the car built to withsand this?
thanks alot

i'm sorry, but i'm going to have to agree with mott power. an s4 is audi's sport car. an s-anything is for speed and fun. if you aren't going to drive it hard every once in a while, then you might as well have gotten an a4. if you bought the s4 just for the name and your rep, you've got some work to do. your rep won't be helped on a forum full of audi enthusiasts if you bought an s4 just for the name...
I have to agree with the other ^^^. My purshase of an S4 is like the peek
of every sport car that previously own in my life. This forum is dedicated to enthousiast.
Giving your car a hard acceleration is no harm to your clutch since this car is
a sport oriented type. Your S4 can sustane lot worse driving habit then that
w/o any problem. In S4 term, i would consider your type of driving a Granny type.
Dont worry about your clutch, it's up to the task.
Good luck !

i guess ill actually address the question as others have covered the other basis
Honestly i dont quite know the limits on a b7 clutch. It hasnt been around long enough nor do i know if its any differnt then the other two previous generations. But it is a sport model and provided you can shift well without grinding teh gears at speed... it should be fine. Esp if youre not launching the car.
The key is really youre shifting.. and how hard you are on it to its life expectancy.

this is just my first manual, so i was worried about ruining it
but i know that im not grinign the gears, because i would hear them grinding if i was, and when i shift it goes into gear really smoothly
thanks
