Just took delivery of my new 2006 S4 6 speed, nav, bose, premium, carbon fiber, cold weather in light silver/ebony. Reading the manual and realized I don't have a phone cradle in the arm rest, and so no Blue Tooth as promised by the dealer. The sticker was already in the glove box when I picked it up and no Blue Tooth listed. I'm fuming and will call dealer in AM. This seems to be an early build date. Are there any other areas to be concerned about with mid 2005 production? Do all MT '06s have the 40:60 split instead of 50:50. Is the shifter the same in all '06s. May be my imagination, but the one I test drove seemed to have shorter throws. By the way, the car is incredible, but I need to deal with this issue ASAP. Thanks.

 

I don't know about the shifter I would have thought they would be the same unless its a sport model, the 60/40 seats are standard "never seen 50/50" not in the UK any way

 

Thanks for the reply. The 60:40 seats are the same. I was concerned about the new diff with 60% rear instead of the 50% as in the past. I am also wondereing if I can upgrade to Bluetooth easily. My dealer is opening soon, and I will call the sales manager ASAP.

 

ahh right actually 60/40 on traction would be better and blue-tooth should be simple enough to install

By the way, does anyone know what 2005.5 S4's say on the sticker (2005, 2005.5, 0r 2006)?

 

Dealer stated that diff and tranny are latest version (based on codes), but Bluetooth can't be added. It would be a huge expense. Any thoughts?

 

Aftermarket kits are also available if you're not in the market for a new car. A company called Parrot makes several adapter kits as does Motorola and others. The kits are very affordable with prices starting well below $200.
