I just traded off my S4 on a S8. I would like to have the ability to play my iPod. I have done a fair amount of research, discovered I need an AMI unit (everything I find is sourced out of Europe), other than that I am stuck. The dealership has never had a request for one and they are of little help to me. I would hate to see what they would charge if they did know what parts to order!

Sounds pretty weird to me that 2007 S8 does not have aux-in connector as standard? That's a flagship model. You do have checked the middle arm rest and glove compartment that there is no aux-in connector?

I purchased an AMI unit last night on e-Bay. Has anyone simply replaced the CD Changer with it? I don't have any compact discs anymore, and don't really have a use for a changer. Are the hookups the same?

 

The ami glove box insert, which would go in place of your glove box mounted cd changer is 4E0-057-785-F for 607.60 dollars, plus cable 4F0-051-592-A for 175.34 plus the cable from ipod or phone to this unit, runs 69.44 for that. Thanks, Jeff.

The AMI unit sits to the left of the CD player. It has a tray where your iPod sits and the connecting wire plugs into the unit to the left of that. Maybe if you take a pic of your glove box, we can suggest more.
