Default 3'' cat-back or 2.25'' true dual?

Theres a custom exhaust shop down the road from my house, I cant decide if I should have them weld on a 3'' catback or make a true dual system. Thing is I dont know where to find a dual tip dual inlet nice muffler for the rear? Any ideas I can have a full exhaust done for 300-400 most likely.

for the dual inlet/dual outlet, have you checked MagnaFlow's website?

I was thinking true dual as well. Magnaflow does make mufflers... any other companies?

I'd definitely go with the dual pipes. Thats what I had done to my car and I love the sound of it.

I'm looking into the Milltek 2.25" Dual and 3" single. I know the 2.25" is louder (and more expensive) but does anyone know which will provide more power? For those of you who backed the Dual, why?

I think most systems are only going to give 4-10 hp and 5-10 ft lbs more of torque. So you likely would not notice a big difference between system. What's most important is the how well they fit and the sound.

And the reason the I like the dual is simple math 2.25 X 2 is like having a 4.5 inch in diameter pipe. Better flow.

I know when I have the money I want to get the AWE Tuning Twin2 true dual exhaust. Not too loud, give good power, fits perfectly, and lastly I've yet to hear someone that did not love the sound. The only down side is that it is a little over $1k. http://www.awe-tuning.com/pages/shar...ust&IL=Twin2S4

yeah.. getting ready to do a big project on my s4.. i am getting the 3" 034motorsports downpipes and was thinking about going into a single 4" pipe all the way back with a magnaflow muffler and/or resonator... or just staying 3" all the way back in a dual....

your math is a little off, remember (pi x r^2) dual 2.25 is just barely bigger than 3" it is actually less than a single 3.5"

Bigern: going dual 3" all the way back probably wont fit under the car, or youll have crappy clearance. Dual 2.5" would work, thats as big as i would go though for dual. 4" would be awsome, definitly loud but overkill for k04's, thats what guruman has on his GT28rs car... iv got the 034 pipes coming too, im just using my borla 3" with a single muffler for now, someday a dumps and a twin 1
