Default 3??'s Piggy-backs?K03 max boost?easy way through fire wall

Hey whats up everyone. new here if you havent noticed.
2001.5 S4 dark blue, custom short throw, performance diverter valves, running Lucus Oil.

well i was wondering, what you guys thought about piggy-back fuel managment systems? i know i know its probably my best bet to get GIAC flash done... but i think it would be cool to tune it my self and keep my lap top in my car if i want. not to mention i can retune it everytime i add a part or when needed.
so... the only thing i want to do now is find out if there is any problems with running a piggy-back.
i was thinking of buying the Powerhouse racing ECU. theres two of them Map ECU1 and MAP ECU2
take a quick look:

http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/part...k/MAP_ECU/5360

I ws also wondering about what is the max psi the K03 will hold? also is there a psi that they will still make good power and be at least a little bit reliable? i do run good oil and i'm about to install a turbo timer as well as a boost gauge.
which brings me to my last question...

Is there an easy way throught the fire wall without ripping the dash out?
I was thinking of going thourgh by the hood latch cable, but i wanted to do more research. i dont mind taking aprt the dash so feel free to tell me how its done.

thanks a lot and any help would be great.

i think the piggy back ECU takes an MAP not a MAF like the car has.

Max boost on K03 peak is ~21 psi but quickly tapers down. Reliable boost is 15-17 psi for K03.

Easiest way through the firewall is the ECU box. There is good bit of space and its sealed. Any hole you drill in the ECU box needs to be sealed with RTV.

Good luck

Hey good stuff thanks.... now i want to narrow it down to the piggy-back now that the other shhhstuff is figured out. Indeed the s4 runs MAF... but what about,

For anyone who has ever installed an aftermarket turbocharger system on a naturally aspirated car, upgraded the turbos and/or fuel system on a turbocharged car, or wanted to remove the restrictive MAF meter on any car, the MAP ECU (Manifold Absolute Pressure Electronic Control Unit) is for you! BLA BLA explains everything. sooo i should be able to pull it off right? i meen i just dont understand why i cant find anything on s4's running piggy-back ECU.
I know its going to be a little stinker(not swearing is hard) to do, but i think it would be worth it. not to mention a good experience.
idk... i can just flash it will GIAC, but that just seems to easy, i really want to do piggy-back though. it's just going to feel so rewarding to do it myself.
anyways... Please any info would be cool, great, grand, wonderful. i need something.
thanks guy, for telling me what i needed.

anyone got any Info? or want to share there opinion?

thanks

When I installed my power wire for my Sub, I ran my wire through a small grommet in the firewall. Its above the gas pedal and brake pedal. WAAAY up there, looks like a triangle with rounded edges. Idk if you will find it but its really easy to get to the battery since the other side of the grommet is a few inches from the battery. Just run whatever it is up through there, add some silicone, and vwala! You have a hole. If you need some pictures on where it is I can go take a few shots. Just let me know.

straight, thanks for the good info. going through the ecu box will get the hose right were i need it, but thats great to have another route through just incase. i think i'm gonna go for one of those other standalone ecu's. just because you can tune the car more precisely. i think it would be worth the extra money. especially because i could put it on any car.
alright all questions anwered. thank you very much. I'll let you know if i need pics. i'ma go look for it.
