hey so i was watching some of marcs videos of his launching is red s4 and im a little confused as how you can launch an automatic/ tip?

does anyone know???

 

I find if I hold the brake on and give it gas for about one second before I release the brake it launches hard out of the gate.

 

ive read its basically, hold down brake all the way, at the same time press the gas till you get to 3000 rpm, but shouldnt really go higher and do all this while your in the manual shift gate and have selected 1st gear.

on my old 3000gt, i would stomp the breaks and launch it 4k rpm, but really not a good idea with a car this expensive, its damage to the tranny every time you do that so be careful

 

the computer wont let you launch a TIP....the audi is far to smart for that....it will still even try to "ease" you into it by not allowing full throttle initially.

this is a good thing....if you do try to launch it with a the break/gas, better have a few grand laying around to replace your TC...wont last long at all.

 

ok thanks for all the info i knew that it damaged the torque converter but if it doesnt let you launch then whats the difference with holding the break and gas rather than just from a dead stop flooring the car???

 

better off just flooring it....you will be a bit faster if you hold the brake first, just because you will build a small amount of boost first, but not worth it if you ask me

 

trade your car in and get a manual one
