I know this has been somewhat talked about but if you added a STS universal turbo along with the two stock k03's would it be worth the money....because 7-10 k for the k04 upgrade is a lot of cash to just drop....but the STS is only about 3K would it be worth it...? has any one tried it ? or is it a noo noo haha

Michaelmarc, I will let Seppaku give you the details, but in short here is a link

They are remote placed turbos usually put about where your muffler would be. Very interesting and I even contimplated such a set up for my old non turbo BMW 325I. But as for how to make it work well with an already turboed car, considering they only support domestic models I wouldnt try it.

One other thing Seppaku is that your cost comparison if comparing a Full complete K04 kit $6k wth everything you need to actually drive your car. to a remote turbo system for $3k, But the remote turbo system doesnt have any fueling components for your audi, and it doesnt have a new MAF, or any software, or any pretuned fuel maps, so dont forget you might be starting at $3K but you are still far away from the price you will pay to actually get it running. Here is a quote from their site on their universal kit (Universal Turbo Systems require fabrication and do NOT include intake or exhaust tubing, fuel management or tuning. )

And if you feel that you can put together the components I listed above and start yourself up with your $3k kit, you may really want to just consider the cost of the KO4 turbos alone. I have seen them for about $1600 for a pair and that is half the price of the STS kit if you are going to cut out all the fuel and other components. And the K04 turbos will bolt right up to your car and wont need to be custom fabricated to fit.

Anyway thost are just some thoughts. If you know of any turbo audi that has added a third turbo, let me know as I would enjoy reading about it.
