ok so i know you guys are probl;y gonna flame me for this but i let the girlfriend take the s4 and she thought she was doing a good thing by filling the gas tank for me and she came back home and said " ifilled your tank for you" i said what did you put in premium right??? she goes "the cheap stuff i filled it" then i said thank but you probly just cost me a fortune..we got into a whole discussion i said well howe many miles have you driven since you filled it?? she said well i dunno like a half of tank!!!! oh man did we get into it some more but hey what can i do she didnt know .

well the question of the story is what kind of damge could have happened from this and what should i do???

Well I don't know your old lady's driving habits but if she wasn't out horse-whipping it your probably alright. I noticed in your sig that you have more than one APR program. Just to be safe I would switch it back to stock or 91 and fill the rest of the tank up with 93 just to be safe. Don't get on it too hard and listen for detonation especially if it's warm where you are.

 

no worries mate, you'll prolly get some detonation like red said and i doubt you'll get almost any carbon build up from running a tank of 87 or any other problems for that matter

 

get a can of octane booster. it should increase the rating by 7 points

 

seven points as in .7 not +7. If he has 87 in there and puts in some octane booster its like 87.7 octane, almost 88. Now if you put it in with a tank of 93 you get almost 94 and that's better, but with 87 it's like shooting yourself in the foot.

 

no it is 7.0 points he would be up to 94.

 

Ooo, where can you get this octane booster? I wanna put it in my tank of 94. Thats a bummer about your car though. I would be pretty upset about that. thats why I dont let anyone but me drive my auto

 

any Autozone or C.A.P carries them. The brands are NOS (offroad kind) +104 booster is another kind.
