First off, hello...

I have the opportunity to buy a 2001 S4 tomorrow, and thought I should check in with you guys and get some advice. Here's the rundown:

Mileage 59,000
Silver
Automatic
3 year complete warranty

Anything I should look out for?
Would you recommend taking it to a mechanic, even with a warranty?
Any tips you guys could give me... I would appreciate.


By the way, I test drove it, and I loved it... holy crap.

 

My bigget tip for you..would be do what I did..take it to a CERTIFIED AUDI MECHANIC! Let them check-it out...cost about $150..but can potentionally save you thousands!!

^^ sorry about that... however, I did buy the car. Everything is tip top except for the speakers. They started crackle up front really bad last night. I see that seems to be common in these cars though, based upon what I have read in here. Is the BOSE worth fixing, or do you recommend upgrading?

5.25 + 6.5 MB Quarts with adapters seem to be popular. Anyone have other suggestions? Do you guys replace the rear door speakers as well or leave it out when upgrading to components?
