another turbo question
ok, so ive read all the turbo's dieing threads and everyone says that when there about to go the turbo will sound obnoxious. well im not exactly sure what that means. im used to my dads f-350 which has a turbo about 4 or 5 times the size of a little ko3 so i cant judge it too well. i picked up my s4 at 96k and im at about 98k now and my driving for the most part consists of a few 4 hour rides to and from school and some light in town driving. with music off and windows open i hear what sounds like a nice little whistle up to about 2100 rpms then it starts to go away, and i can hear it up until about 25 or 30 miles per hour. i defiantly noticed it a bit more after i did the dar intake, it sounds harmless but i dont have any other experience with tiny turbos. help me out guys.
thanks
Rob
thanks

thats just the turbos spooling. when they go, you will know. all turbos spool, a diesel will not sound anything like the 2.7. basically, save your money, dont worry about, when they go, they go....absolutly nothing you can do now to stop it. it may last another 40k, or may fry out when you start it in the morning. But all turbos make a spooling noise, i see you did the Darintake, which if you did correctly, will allow you to hear your turbos slightly more than without. its normal, unless it sounds like one of these.....
this is an a4, so its only one of them....
