Anyone have the Vast manual boost controllr?
a MBC is a manual boost controler. this wil alow you to adjust your boost up to 3 lbs either way. Add a TCD (throttle cut defender) you can adjust the boost to what ever the turbos will handle with no limp mode. this is not possible on APR and other chips. GIAC has several files that this works on. I know that VAST performance has the file that will do this on both ko3 and ko4 turbos so you will only need 1 chip ever.
if I was you I would just spend the few extra dollars and get a new chip. this way you are sure you are getting theone fo your car and you know your ecu works and last you will have a worrenty and a relatoinship with the tuner you got the file from.
I know vast is one of the largest seller of 2.7t chips so they have several files that other tuners might not have. so I always recommend them but there are several dealers out there

well i have an agreement with this guy. I paid him the 400...hes sending me the ecu...i plug it in and make sure everything runs right...if it doesnt then ill send it back and he will refund the money, but if it does then ill send him my stock ecu
I would agree with Turbomew on this. In the end you are best off going with someone that can chip the car for you. There is going to be little support for you if you have an issue and if you do decide you want to upgrade your file or you have an issue down the road you are going to be stranded.
I bought a ECU off a fella for my car early on so I could have race gas file on my 4.2 The ECU died 2 weeks later. I never even had it chipped yet.
Not saying this will happen to you but in the end I think you would be best off spending a few more dollars and getting support from a tuner and a warranty if you need it.
