my car has developed a squeaking sound in the past few days that I cant seem to figure out. It is a high pitched, almost fan beltlike squeal that is very faint, but noticable. It only occurs during the following circumstances:
[ul][*]Light throttle (almost to the point where the engine is not pushing, mor like free wheeling, ro engine braking)[*]6th gear[*]above 30 mph[*]clutch engaged[/ul]
Sometimes it will do it with the clutch disengaged, but it is alot fainter when that is the case. the clutch is not slipping, still grabs fine, I dont see any oil leaks, its not the engine, its not the brakes, I just did the front CV joints, they are full of grease and not leaking... argh, Im at my witts end. These are the only circumstances where it makes the sound, but since I live in the city, I spend alot of time at low RPM, in 6th gear, putzing around at 35-40 MPH, so it is starting to get aggrivating... Help!!

I dun think so, becuase it doesnt increase with speed or RPM, it stays constant.

 

AHA! I think I figured it out... I think its my new poly snub mount... Going to get som white grease and squirt in there tomorrow and find out.
