Just put my summer wheels back on my ride and had a quick question. Would you put the pair of wheels with more tread on the front or rear of the car? I would think front because they are responsible for turning and have engine power going to them. But I have been told new tires on an AWD car should go in the rear. I want them to wear evenly... what are your thoughts?

 

I don't think it matters, and have read mixed reviews on whether to go front or rear. you can always havea tire place shave off what you need for them to equal out.

 

the tire shave is a good idea! prolly your best bet, I have been told that two sets of different tires will cause the others to wear just ever so slightly more or uneven.

 

better tires on the front, you want to steer.

 

i second that....since you get power to all wheels, grip isnt an issue, but steering could be....

 

I third that... You already have a tendancy to understeer with an S4. Less traction in front is just gonna increase that.
