Hello Everyone,

I am posting this because I am planning to buy a car next month and I am having quite the time deciding weather to buy a b5 s4 or a b6 s4. I am aware of aftermarket world the two but that is not what interests me. I right now have a b5 A4 so I am hoping people would give me opinions, ups/downs, anything related to both of them to help me choose. Right now I am looking at the B6 S4 but please lets discuss!

The twin turbo is more modable. I also prefer the way it handles. The b6 is too big and bulky and doesnt handle the way id like it to.

 

twin turbo V6 that has a sh!tload of potential or a V8, nicer interior IMO and a supercharger for it at a nice price (not sure if its out yet).

 

Yes BI-TURBO all the way. Mine has had the stage 3 parts on for 55k miles with no breakage. I will be at 100k miles on the car with abusive driving everyday.

Go with the B5..all the money you'll save you can put into mods and smoke any B6 out there!

 

The B6 is a V8 . Out of the Box a great car. The interior is far nicer then the B5 .. add exhaust and DP's to the B6 and she'll be good to go .

 

I like the b5 better , more modable. what is the weight difference between the b5 and b6?

 

Go with the B6. Bone stock it will run circles around the B5 and it has a much nicer interior.

 

youre comparing apples to oranges. they are totally different cars. i like the b6, but then thats what i drive. really, all the ppl that have the b5 will say thats the best and all the b6 owners will say its better.
if youre gonna compare, i'd compare the b5 s4 to the a6 2.7t and the b6 s4 to an a6 4.2. seems that engine comparison would be closer.

 

Its really not though... The ride in the b6 isnt as exhillerating as in the b5 IMO (ive driven both). The b6 has a lot of torque stock yes, but take the money you saved and buy a chip,and it is in a whole other league. The interiors are basically the same except for hte seats (which are much nicer in the b6) but i couldnt tell almost any difference. The stereo is the same, and trim and such looks very similar.
