B8 S4
I would love to see the turbo back on the S4 but again the supercharger would be a nice change...it works well for the AMG class of cars not only that but I really liked the superchanrger in my 03 mustang..either way it seems that audi is not content to see BMW make any more moves that are bigger than them
With all the major europeans finally switching from low displacement high revving 6's to V8's now. It would be pretty hard to imagine they would go back in time to what was once before. My only .02 would be that they would put a FSI version into the new B8 hoping for a little better gas mileage. I only get about 13-15 on an average week. They wouldn't put the RS4 motor in due to the fact that they want their to be a nice gap in power between the two cars, as part of the selling point. I also wouldn't imagine that the new RS4 will get something that much larger as you start to get too big. Afterall, the M5 is in a different class than these cars. Not to say faster, just different.
yeah you are right the M5 isnt in the same class, but the M3 is and I hate to say it but I think the will out run the Audi. I only say that because where the motor sits in the M3. i love the way my S4 holds the road but the M3 will always take the turns better.
The car looks great and I'm sure will be a fantasitc car - and I'm also sure that they will not backtrack to a V6 but - to me its the wrong direction for the S4. It looks more like an A6 - too big and luxo-sedan like. I thought the styling (and size) of theB7 S4 to be about right (particularly in sweet RS4 guise...). They should downsize the car and make it as light as possible (understanding the safety considerations and quality standards etc) - they should really make it as sporting as possible - and yet try to out do the M3 on performance - or at least be right up there...and certainly use forced induction where enthusiasts might take it further and really have the bragging rights - like the B5....thats my $0.02.
I know that looks like a v8 badge on that picture, but most of these pictures are computer renderings done by graphic design artists, its merely an impression of what the car will PROBABLY look like, based on the b8 a4, and what we know, like the wheels, and by comparing it to similar s-car styling (s5...)
That article seemed very sure that the car WILL have a forced induction FSI 3.0 V6. Honestly, audi has a little love affair with turbos, mercedes can keep their superchargers. I think the V6 marks the return of a twin turbo set up. Its only logical.

Well Mercades actuallt got rid of the superchargers, they have the 6.3 AMG. Yeah you are right Audi does have some kind of love for those little noise makers, but hey i love em too
. I do love the looks of the car and oh yeah those rims look great, I think ill stick to my B5 (cant afford too much more)

lets just hope for a nice beefy v6 with some turbos better than the k03's. if they made their stock turbos k04's or some mitsubishi variations, it could turn out to produce great power while still reving high and maintaining the ease of spooling quickly. i assume it will be a heavier base than the B7's so lets hope for the power to compensate. 4.2 is such a tiny V8 also. i never really saw the point from an upgrading standpoint.
