well i took some pictures and wrote down what it said on what i thought could possibly be the chip. It said "ExiLinx" and had a couple serial numbers but I only wrote down the first one "XCR3128XL". I will get the picks up in about 30 mins so maybe you guys can tell me what is going on. Its sweet that I might not have to worry about spending money on a chip but it sucks knowing that this is basically the fastest this car will go with out going to the next stage which is way out of my price range.

Use your Macro setting on the camera, you can't tell anything from the pics. It also looks like the stock chip, so my thought is you have a flash. So APR or GIAC.

 

so i have been searching and reading up on flash programs and I was wondering if someone could give me a fast overview. How do I find out who flashed my ecu? How can i get the upgraded codes? How much do they cost?

Of what I have read, flashing your ecu is a lot better than a chip. so my question is, why do people still pirchase chips now and not just flash their ecu?

You need to contact some local shops that sell APR, GIAC, REVO, etc, & ask them to scan the ECU for you. No only can they tell you what flash you have, but it should be a "free" software update, if they have one.
