Boost Gauge
ive been looking into getting a boost gauge for my b5 s4, how hard is the installation process, where do i hook into to get the vacuum/boost also where do i go through the fire wall to run the wires into the car and also does any one have any advice on what is decent gauge that they have had good experiences with. Thanks in advance
It's easy takes about an hour or so
here are the directions from AWE

I went a little different, i went with the newsouth http://www.newsouthperformance.com/pod.htm. it was easy after all said and done. ittook about 40min. i didnt go with a vent gage because i didnt want to cut or trim and i also wanted to look at the tach and the boost at the same time rather than go road, tach, boost and road, if you got me. oh and for the boost line i used the 2 holes in the firewall that were unused (looks like a triangle) 1is just to the right of the batt box and the other just infront and goes into the car. also have enough to run apower wire for sub so you dont have to cut the ecm box. hope this helps
I know it's more money but I recommend going with an electric boost gauge instead of a manual boost gauge.
On my Maxima I have an Autometer Phantom series full-sweep electric boost gauge.
Product number 5776.
Link to a picture of my Maxima's interior/boost gauge - Please excuse my temporary rubber bands.

I never compared my Maxima to an S4, it's strange that you can read something that was never written.
Just trying to help blaze420 by suggesting the Autometer electric boost gauges.
I'm in the process of shopping for an S4. I spent the whole day yesterday surfing and reading as much as I could about the S4. Thus the reason Isigned up as a member on this site.
Nice welcome I'm getting.

The S car forum is an interesting place haha
That specific guage only reads to 15 psi which if you are chipped will just max out. I dont know much about guages but i would believe it if you told me electronic are more accurate...
But people go awe because it is simple, very convienent to mount, and matches the stock guages. i assume you could take the AWE housing, and put an electronic boost guage in that reads a higher value.
And matt get back to me about that bumper and those sideskirts! After i fly back to NH on the 15th we should meet up and put those programs on my S
