Default Brakes for B5 S4

Looking to ug brakes. My preference - from what I've read - is to go with STOPTECHS. My mechanic also highly recommends them. I'm thinking of just doing the fronts and of upgrading rear pads. Additionally - I'd like to still be able to use my 17" wheels for winter tires/driving. Any comments or suggestions? Should I consider anythng other then the Stoptechs? What size - diameter & caliper should I consider? I do pretty much only street driving - but very hard/fast - and am interested in tracking the car by this fall - at least once!

Also considering upgrading rear sways...nuespeed? any suggestions/comments?

Any other handling upgrades i should consider?

There really arent any other BBK's that fit under the 17" wheels other than the stoptechs. Alcons are great but they probably wont fit under the wheels, plus if they are any better it is surely not worth hte extra dough. Go with stoptechs, you wont be upset.

Have you checked out ECS Tuning? They might have something for you.

Woops, I forgot that the porsche brakes will fit under the wheels, just not the cayenne 6 pot calipers. I still say stoptech is the way to go. As for sway bars, its a pretty common mod, and it takes a lot of body roll away. I got a set of H&R roll bars (front and back), havent gotten installed yet, but I hear good things.

Yeah - from what I have heard Stoptechs are the sh*t. I've never tried out a car with them though. And I value keeping my 17" (with the Vreds) for winter supremecy...can a 6 pot fit? and up to what caliper size? 355? Much difference in braking with the 4 vs 6 pot? Fade on track? etc

So H&R vs Nuespeed vs ? for sway bars - does it matter? I'm thinking of just doing the rear...been told that front ugs don't make nearly as much (if any) real difference...don't know...

Also I do have (at least) one other issue - that is maddening - I'm lowered on H & Rs with Bilesein shocks...I recently had some body work after taking a hit up front (passenger side) - and even after getting the body shop to adjust my bumper & side panel) I'm rubbing (tire) far to often on my right front...but OK on my left (non hit) side. Any suggestions?

My other lingering issue that is bothering me is that I occasionally get a hesitation/lurch between 3500-5000 RPM that is maddening (and can't be good for the engine/tranny/mounts and so forth). My mechanic has no clue - could be fuel, electric/plugs/ who knows. Anyone have any experience with anything like this? It is throwing no codes and is very intermitent (didn't happen at all yesterday or today for instance). Its more often - but not always on hard acceleration...and it is most frequent (though not exclusivly - not at all) during hard acceleration acter going around a sharp curve quickly...anyone have any experience or insight with anything like this?

Hey thanks for the tip - I'm checking it out right now and there looks to be some possibilities (at the very least with doing a mild rear brake ug to the TTs...etc)

So how do the Porsche brakes compare to Stoptech?

I too am interested in a BBK. I like the porsche ones from the cayenne to be honest. But I too want to use them with the stock 17" rims, I suppose they wont fit will they, but stoptech does?

I'm told that the 4 piston caliper Stoptech does...

The cayenne calipers wont fit, but the other porsche ones on ecs tuning (not sure which model they come from) will fit.
