Default Cam lock bar Measurements

Can somone please give me some detailed measurements. I am going to make my own i can't see paying 120 dollars for a piece of aluminum. I only need the lenght of the center section before the bends, length of the joggle, length of the area you put the bolt in, distance between the bolt holes and diameter of the bolt hole. Thanks guys.
Joe

I hate to say it but your best bet is to just buy the tool, yeah it may be 120 but thats 120 bucks to make sure you do it right and dont break something you know. also if you get it back together and bend a valve you would you would kick your self for nor paying 120bucks you know, I only say that because I have done it before (thank god it was only a Honda) hut like i said just spend the money

I have read on the other forum that you can do without the lock bar if you make several marks on the cam and make sure it lines up afterwards.
I think I'm going to do it this way because you are right, $100 buck for a bent piece of metal with 6 holes in it is out of wack!.

Besides. If you mark 2 teeth on the each cam AND the belt (also the crank) you can technically put the old and new belt on top of each other, mark the same teeth on the belt, and match it to the cam gear marks and the crank. Everything should be in synch. I'm going to do it this way in the beginning of Nov. I'll take pics.

If i was doing the t-belt myself id probably buy the part. Youl still be saving money over paying for labor, and now you have the bar which you can re-use, sell, lend/rent to people. Its been done without one though.

The only way someonce can give you measurements is if they can somehow get you a print, like CAD or the like. You can do it without the tool, but it'll add to your time and frustration significantly. If you're a decent fabricator you can make up your own tool once you're in there. Good luck...

Idont need a CAD drawing, or anything more prescise then a tape measure for that matter. I do structural repairs on aircraft for a living, so making this is a walk in the park.As far as i can tell, since no one here is willing to offer any help at all, either people do not own the tool or are far too cheap and pissed that i can make one for 5 dollars and refuse to give me some rough measurements.I can about 75% tell from pictures how big the tool is, not to mention i can hold it up to the heads before i start to get the metal bent correctly. The only frustration i am having that every reply to this thread has told me to either buy it or not use it. Obviovsly im going to use it and im not paying for it. To all of you that have contributed absolutely nothing to this thread, if your going to keep using up bandwidth atleast thanks for the free bumps.

No one here is with holding information from you, im sorry we havent been able to help you thus far. Apparrently everyone who has seen this thread dose not own on. Get started, take some measurements and just make the bar quickly while you have the front end apart. It only looks like you would need the distance between those 2 bolts, the bending of the bar seems to be arbitrary. GO FOR IT!

I did it without the bar. But I have a shop and many tools at disposal, I make my own. The bigger holes should be horizontally facing eachother just a hint. If you bend those valves or if you have a hard time accelarating don't come crying .
