Default can i get a real answer

So this week i went to my local exhaust shop to get my cutouts put on, i started talking to the mechanic about my car for a while. Then we started talking about the cutouts, Im just curious if what he was telling me is true because if so i'm thinking ill have to take another route for my exhaust. He basically told me
1. My cutouts were going to go just behind the main cat on my stock exhaust system, he told me that because it was my stock exhaust it wouldn't give me a noticable gain in hp, and i would be better off just getting a catback. Now i was under the impression that on stock piping dumping the gases right after the cat and avoiding the muffler and rest of piping would give me a noticeable gain in hp.
2. He also told me i couldn't run them everyday as it would damage the motor, again I was under the impression that you could run them as often as you wanted as long as you could put up with the noise.
So if you guys could clear up those two questions it would be a big help i really want to get them installed but not if they aren't going to give me any gains. Btw i just have a giac chip and piggie pipes.

just have the guy weld up some straight pipes from the cats back. no mufflers. sounds awesome looks stock still. gives you more than some overpriced exhaust system and sounds better i think. he doesnt understand how turbo cars work. less restriction after the turbo the better. the turbos will muffle the exhaust enough. use 3inch mandrel bent piping. i had mine made with no cats and it cost me about $400. worth it

that's a good point I would do that but but the whole reason i was just going to do cutouts was because i don't have a lot of money to spend right now but wanted to get some more performance. I think i might try to do it myself hopefully it turns out good. Any reason it couldn't be driven with them open daily?

other than the sound police, no. As said, the turbos are the highest restriction in your system, so anything after them is not really gonna hurt. But, removing the asfter cat restriction will let them spool up a little faster

um yeah.... no restriction hurts n/a engines but the turbos in the forc3d induction engines is plenty to help exhaust gas not hurt the 3xhaust valves..

YA if you had a N/A motor I would say its a waste of time. But you will see a big difference in the dumps. They are loud as hell but other then making you do def the car will be fine. SEVERAL people do that with no issues

Thanks for the help guys, i was just wondering since i didn't get them done yet because i was trying to make up my mind, any idea how hard it would be to put them in place of the flex piece right before the cat?

NOOOO do not remove the flex joint from the pipe. Just do it right and find the best place you can. But with the cats I know its hard so just take the advice for what it is

don't take out the flex piece? I could have sworn the builds iv seen where they put them pre cat put it straight from the bottom of the dp and welded it to the cat without the flex piece. How else would you put it pre cat?
