CD Changer "No Disc" Please Help
HI. Just purchased a 2000 S4 Thought that during the dest drive the guy was playing discs from the changer. When I brought it home and loaded my cds in (label side up, cartridge with word "Disc" up as well) the bose head unit still showed "No CD". The manual said that when i load the cartridge it is supposed to make a "working noise" which means that it's counting cds. It makes no such noise. Although when i switch the mode from CD to CDC i think something is clicking in the trunk. What does this mean? time to ebay?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

RE: CD Changer "No Disc" Please Help
try using a factory made CD that is clean and not scratched up, not a home burned CD... I used to have a changer in aCLK500 that would say the same thing, and then if I put a different CD in it worked fine.

Tried it again... no dice. The changer isn't pulling cd's from the cartridge at all. No mechanical sound whatsoever. I haven't pulled the thing apart yet. I want to try everything else first before i go and f it up. Any ideas?

Thanks for the help I'll try that. I'm having serious second thoughts about this car now. Didn't really imagine what i was getting into. I mean I love the car, but i've been driving it less than a week and it just threw a CEL last night, so now i have to deal with that too. Might have to start researching my state's lemon laws if it's something serious.
