Default Check Engine light on-01 Audi S4

Well my check engine light came on this morning, so i brought it up to the dealership where i bought the car. It was a random/mutiple cylinder missfire. The car has about 77k on it could it be i need new spark plugs and wires? Also when im driving on occasion usually when cold the car hesitates how much do you think this missfire code has to do with that? The dealer reset the code and told me if i came back on hell look into it more...so hopefully something will be done with that. Another question is what kind of plugs and wires should i run on this thing...and how hard are they to change? Thanks

our car does not use wires. It is a coil over plug. Your best bet is to figure out the problem and change that. Dont be a parts changer and waste your money.

any advice on where to start with this problem....i pulled engine cover and checked the tbb and the lines running from the dv there doesnt seem to be any leaks...any other places to look for a boost leak or possibly a vacuum leak?

i had a similar problem at about 90k, it was multiple missfires, first intermitant, than steady, turned out to be a coil control module, diagnosis, module, and spark plugs, at the dealer was about $650, since than a had a random cylinder missfire, but thats it, no further problems, i was told it just happens once in a while, also the spark plugs are easy to replace, all of a half hour, remove plastic engine cover, 2 screws for each coil, than replace plugs, dealer use NGK platinums.

Find out what the codes are, see if it's just one cylinder, or more. It can be a bad plug, bad coil, bad o2, bad egt, bad MAF, leaking injector, etc.....

ok i have access to a Nemysis scanner( not a cheap one the $800 one)...but thats probably not what i need im guessing VagCom....correct? Also i should mention that i can feel the misfire when its cold but once the oil temp heats up it seems to go away...the missfire is intermittent. Also is there a way to check if my timing belt has been done....because if it hasnt im ganna do it soon my friend is a mechanic at a garage and were going to do it one weekend. I should mention that it looks like my bumper has been removed because it isnt lined up to factory spec(one end pokes out more on one side) thanks for all the help guys.
