Clutch For Stage 3
I am getting my K04s on tus or wed of this week and even thought iam not going to do the fueling kit right now iam going to do the clutch sence the motor and trans and going to be out. Were is the best place to get one and is a stage 1 or RS4 clutch going to be good or should I get more clutch
If u eventually going stage 3 full. then just get the Clutchmasters stage 3 or something along those lines or something compared from vast. RS4 would be good, and plenty of people drive them but there are still some storys for slipping RS4 clutchs on full stage 3 setups.
I think youll find the CM stg3 with lightwt flywheel will be the most popular amongst stg3 cars.

Don't do a clutchmasters. I started with a clutchmasters it was twice the price as the vast and it held for about 6 months.
Vast is the only company that I know of that knows how to use the SAM and modify the pressure plate. Not only that but most people you hear about having issues with the RS4 don't actually have a RS4 pp in. Last week I helped dreinS4 replace his clutch he was told he had a RS4 pp from "another tuner" that sold him a stage 2. it tuns out that his pp was no more thana modified stock pp. This is the issue you see when it comes to the slipping of the RS4 pp. I have heard of many with this issue on the other forum almost all of them found out that they didn't have a genuine RS4 pp.
I have the VAST iron puck in my car with all the Tq I make I never have ha it slip once. But I would definitely not recommend it for every day driving

I have to second the word of caution on the clutchmasters (stage 3). Failed prior to one year (more like at 9 months) - though with little noticble wear and tear (certainly not beyond the norm - and no abuse) - and they would not back up their product. I do have another one in - but if it fails I'll go Vast or some hybird. This one has only been in about 2-3 months and it is already exhibiting some of the stickyness the other one had (though so far no slippage...but that really came on when the weather chilled). Otherwise (Mrs Lincoln...) I would say I was happy with it....
