Default Cracked control arm...

I had a mechanic inspect my car right before I bought it and he said the front right control arm has some small cracks in it. He said it wasnt urgent to get fixed but I would like to.

Are there any upgraded control arms that are less likely to crack in the future? Anyone been through this before?

Did you buy it? That's a pricey repair. Ouch!

Yea I bought it. Other than that the car is perfect, honestly it doesnt seem 8 years old at all. I was quoted by one person for $1,400, does that sound right? And can I get upgraded control arms to prevent this from happening again?

I did all four of my control arms for $700 including labor. Over a grand is paying way too much.

I went with the regular OEM control arms after looking at other options. You can get adjustable ones to control your camber and what not but those are pretty pricey. I would say $400 or so an arm.

get some new ones from ecs. DIY and it's a lot cheaper than that! CA's I heard can be done 10-15 mins/side.

Cracks & it's not important? Does that sound right to you?

More then likely, you have cracks in the rubber bushings, & NOT the arms.

Cracked arms, replace ASAP, before they fail & you crash!
