Default dash computer

I don't know what the little square box in between the speedometer and tach is called that tells you outside temp, MPG, miles till empty, etc. (onboard computer maybe)
Mine's in the shop for turbos or I would look up whatit is in the manual.
Anyway mine is not as bright as the rest of the gauges . It's a little broken up looking. You can read it, but sometimes it's a little hard to. Also tach needle isn't accurate. What is the cost to fix this? I want to ask you guys before I ask the mechanic.
Thanks,
delaney

You need a new cluster, average cost is around $800 just for the cluster.

Try shokan ( www.shokan.com ) your better off calling though. 1-800-ALL-AUDI ( 1-800-255-2834 )

try finding a used one. as for the brightness, have you tried turning the trip reset **** under the speedometer?

you can't use a "used" one... because I understand that you would not be able to calibrate it to match the mileage of thereplaced cluster.

I understandfrom when thecluster was replaced on the car I own, before I got it by the previous owner it was 680 bucks for the part alone, not including labor, and you have a 50 mile distance that can be travelled before thecluster locks itself and it is no longer adjustable.
