do i go with stock or performance??
The way I look at it is if you have to do something, and stock costs you 400, aftermarket costs 550, I like to think that you only have to pay $150 for better brakes because you have to do something, so why not pay for the good stuff. In reality you are still paying 550, but you have to spend some money either way. Go performance.
I see, then it's a big price differential. I'll tell you this... I used to live on a mountain and had warped my stock rotors during that time. Once I switched to the powerslots and HPS pads, the braking power increased noticably (especially in the rain) and no hint of warpage. I've also done some SCCA with the new setup and it works well for that type of driving too.

no no autocrossing or scca....does anybody else have opinions on this???

Are you planning to do some autocrossing or SCCA? Cause correct me if I'm wrong but I'm under the opinion that cross-drilled aren't necessarily the best application for street use. #1 you're likely never to require the extra cooling capacity from cross-drilling, and #2 they tend to be more susceptable to warpage.
Don't get me wrong, they look sweet as hell but... Wouldn't just slotted rotorsbe suffificient (certainly cheaper)? Then you'd have more for some better calipers ; )

Brakes for sure.
Brakes for sure.
I would upgrade the pads, but opt for the solid vented rotors (stock) vs. the slotted and/or cross-drilled rotors. You'll find that a good set of pads will go a long way to enhancing your braking performance, and the extra mass of the stock rotors (without material removed by slotting or cross-drilling) will do a better job of managing the heat in spirited street driving. Cross-drilled rotors look cool, and they have many benefits if ultimate stopping power is a priority over longevity.
Cross-drilled rotors will not only be more likely to crack and warp than solid rotors, but they will also exacerbate pad wear (cheese-grater effect on the pads) meaning you'll go through them faster as well. So what you are really looking at is paying $550 for a set of front brake components that will likely last about 2/3rds as long as the $400 components.
Split the difference and go for just the pad upgrade unless you have some performance goal in mind that requires the cross-drilled rotors.
IMHO, FWIW...

I say get the drilled rotors. On my race car I drilled my own and have not experienced any kind of warping and they are a lot thinner and I drilled probably 3x what your rotors will have done.
