Dump Valves...
Can anyone shed any light regarding the A3 2.0 TDI S-Line and dump valves?
Is it possible to fit an aftermarket dump valve to this engine? (for the added effect)
Any information regarding this subject would be highly appreciated.
Cheers

NO. Venting a Blow Off Valve / Dump valve to the atmosphere for the sake of Making Cool noises Is stupid.
Audi's Meter Air in a Draw Thru set up. The AIr Meter / MAF is located PRE turbo with the Dump Valves after IT. STock 'Diverter Valves or Compressor Bypass Valves as it were) release boost preassure back into the intake stream in between shifts. Thing is a proportionate amount of fuel has been delivered for that air (B/c it was measured allready my the MAF) If you 'VENT' that air to the atmosphere ( for added affect) ((RICER)) You will encounter a Very RICH condition and the car will run like ***. Not to mention Audi VW valves SUck at holding boost higher than stock. So not only will it effec WOT performance, Venting will also **** up your part throttle tune b/c the valves are slightly open under vacume. This will make you LEAN under vacume and cause rough idle and screw with part throttle response.
Go ahead. Plug the return inlet and vent your stock valves. You'll quickly return it to the way it was.
What you want to do can only be done right in a BLOW THRU set up. If the Air Meter was located POST TURBO and the CBV/Blow off Valve/ Dump Valves are BEFORE the METER you can vent and sound like a real turbo car all day. BUt You can't fit the air meter anywhere else nor can you relocate the CBV's on an Audi so

Thank you, thank you...I'm a fast learner, had to be, especially when 26 days after purchasing my S4, the turbos blew at 68,000 miles. The previous owner "raped" the car. The Audi dealership wanted $5000.00 to replace ...no way "DIY" as I always say!
See the attached pics of the turbo swap in the basement...brutal! But perfect!
wow.. you did a turbo replace diy... thats awesome. sorry to hear you had the issues on the car right after you got it, yeah the dealer was ripping you off.. and i assume they wanted to just put k03 in too. How do you like the hybrid upgrade and how does the tip tranny hold up to that.
Please can you explain an exhaust dump?
What I was looking at is, on the 2.0 TDI, when coming off the gas you hear the release of air? from... ... ...
I watched a video regarding the speaker kit... I would never install those lol
