would this work on my 2000 or would i need something else? is this even worth buying? how extensive can you go without buying the full package?

very basic mate without the full package,in most cases its just the licence which is $99 to enable it

Do a search it's been brought up many times.

It's not really worth it, there is very limited functions. Got to http://www.ross-tech.com/index.html & see the differences.
