I have an 01.5 S4 and my engine check light seems to come on quite a bit. Sometimes it will stay on for a day or two and then go out. Does anyone else have this problem?

 

LOL ya you have to go to a audi dealer or some one with a scan tool and figure out whats wrong with it, theres tons of codes to go thru and hope its a easy cheap fix and not something major....

 

Did you screw your gas cap till it clicked 3 times?? This happened to me when I first bought my S4, that will make the engine light come on if you dont

 

My CEL had the same symptoms (stays on for a day or two and may stay clear as long as a week.) Took mine to Autozone, they'll read the code for free.

My code turned out to be P0411 - Secondary air injection system. Incorrect flow.

 

took mine (01.5 S4 avant 6 spd) to INGOLSTADT WEST in Canoga Park CA for the same problem at 32k miles... didn't get the code, but was diagnosed as a misfire....new plugs has kept the light off, at 36k so far....
