Engine reliability?
Alright so my 01 S4 has about 117k miles on it right now. I really dont drive much, probably 8-9 thousand miles a year. I plan on doing mods within the month, but want to know some future things. I plan on keeping the car a long time but in the future want to go stage III, is this wise with the mileage on the car? How long do you guys think the 2.7t's can go for? Last question is if i do go stage III and in the long run the engine blows, how tricky would an engine rebuild be? So basically im wondering if you guys think i should hold onto the car and do the mods or sell it and try and get a lower mileage one.
I have the same question. How many miles can you get out of them? And who rebuilds APB engines is the South West (California)? I have 82K miles and would not mind spraying a 75-150hp shot of N2O... But is this practical for moderate drag racing?
If you want to do it right and you have the time and money.. Just buy a used Longblock... put it on an engine stand and start buying parts and storing them up or modding it. I have a 2002 Longblock with 92k on it. It came out of a 2002 Silver S4 that someone rearended and totalled the back half of the car. I have sold the stock k03's and the sidemount IC's.. hopefully by end of winter or beginning of summer i will have a good list of parts purchased and sittin in the garage to take my vacation this summer building the motor.
