Default exhaust power difference

So im just killing some time at work cruising all my favorite audi related sites, and im looking at the milltek system for the B6 S4 on stratmosphere. It says that the Resonated and NON-resonated provide equal power gains. My question is wouldn't the NON-resonated version be more free flowing and create more power. Or is it a tricky backpressue issue? I tried searching this forum, zine, and fortitude and couldnt find an answer. hmm? Im in the process of trying to convince my dad (he bought me the car) to let me install an exhaust system. But i figure i should decide exactly what i want before i start kissing a**.
